Uterine Fibroids

Uterine Fibroids

  • Uterine fibroids are noncancerous growths of the uterus that often appear during childbearing years.
  • Most common symptoms include heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, difficulty in achieving pregnancy and if large can cause pressure on the urinary bladder causing increased urinary frequency or difficulty in urination.
  • Ultrasound or MRI scan will be performed to assess their number, size and location and further appropriate treatment will be planned.
