RECURRENT URINARY INFECTIONS
Bulging of the vaginal walls/uterus. May cause difficulty in bladder or bowel emptying and sexual dysfunction.
Urinary infections affect around 20% of women at some time during their lifetime.
If someone has two or more episodes in a 6 month period it is called recurrent UTI.
They can be caused by stones or tumors in the urinary tract as well as incomplete emptying of the bladder.
It is essential to perform basic tests such as urine microscopy and culture and treat with appropriate antibiotics.
Sometimes preventive antibiotics in addition to healthy bladder habits may help in preventing further episodes of infection.
